Quick Bio
Busayo Olaoluwa Oguntimehin is a Nigerian-born registered nurse, known for her resilience, adaptability, and unwavering faith in God. She has traversed three continents in pursuit of her education and professional growth, and is recognized for her strong sense of self-awareness, problem-solving abilities, and lifelong love for music. Busayo's journey exemplifies the power of determination and self-belief as she has overcome cultural shifts, demanding academic and licensing examinations, and the personal challenges of adapting to new environments. As she advances in her career in England, she remains deeply connected to her family, her faith, and her aspiration to further her studies and personal relationships.
Early Life
Busayo was born in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, into a family of six, where she was the third child and second daughter. Her childhood was filled with the warmth of close relationships with her siblings, especially bonding over music when her eldest brother would return from school to teach the family songs and harmonization. A significant part of her family routine was morning devotions, which instilled a sense of unity, discipline, and spirituality. At age 9, Busayo went into boarding school, a formative experience that fostered independence and adaptability at a young age. Boarding school introduced her to new social circles and helped nurture her musical interests, as she sang with other talented students. From her earliest years, Busayo learned to navigate changes, take care of herself, and find stability through faith and family.
Education
Busayo's educational journey began at home in Nigeria, with her junior secondary years spent at Mater Christi Catholic Girls High School, Igede-Ekiti, a boarding school. She moved on to Federal Government Girls College, Efon Alaaye, also a boarding school, for her senior secondary education. In 2015, Busayo took a significant step by relocating to Bangalore, India, for her tertiary studies, enrolling at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka. There, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her time in India was transformative, teaching her to navigate different cultures, become even more independent, adapt to new environments, and form close-knit communities of friends, especially through choir and church activities. After graduation, Busayo returned to Nigeria, completed a six-month adaptation course for foreign-trained nurses, and passed the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria licensing exam. In pursuit of greater professional opportunities, she later relocated to England, undergoing another rigorous process to become a registered nurse in the UK, including passing the CBT and English language tests required by the UK's Nursing and Midwifery Council. She currently lives and works in England as a registered nurse.
General Stuff
Beyond her nursing career, Busayo is passionate about music, which has been a source of comfort, expression, and joy since childhood. She enjoys listening to music, harmonizing, dancing, and dreams of learning to play musical instruments like the guitar and keyboard. While music is a beloved hobby rather than a professional pursuit, she values its role in her wellbeing and hopes to pass her musical interests to her future children. Busayo identifies as an introvert who values introspection, self-awareness, and emotional balance. She is often seen as a problem solver and someone who remains calm in the midst of chaos, attributes shaped by her experiences as a boarder, her time abroad, and her faith. She values intentional decision-making, always considering how her actions affect herself and others, and credits her parents with instilling her core morals and self-discipline.
Emotional/Love Life
Busayo describes her most significant relationship as that with God, referring to Him as 'Abba' and crediting her faith as the guiding force in her life and decisions. She is currently single and very open about her journey towards finding love, emphasizing her willingness to meet new people while maintaining patience and trust in God’s timing. Historically, she has faced challenges in making and keeping friends due to her mobility and demanding profession, but she now values and nurtures meaningful and intentional friendships, particularly with two individuals she considers like sisters. Maintaining a strong bond with her family is also a priority, as she strives to be present and supportive despite the geographic and professional demands on her life.
Dreams and Fantasies
Busayo’s aspirations are focused on completing her current professional registrations and embarking on a Master’s degree in Nursing. Her dreams extend to further developing her career once her academic goals are met. Personally, she seeks greater stability and confidence in her relationships, both with family and friends, and hopes to start a family of her own when the time is right. She is committed to continued personal growth, deeper spiritual connection with God, and exploring opportunities for further musical expression and learning. Busayo’s guiding principle is rooted in faith—'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me'—a belief that has empowered her as she overcame obstacles from gaining university admission to excelling across multiple healthcare systems internationally.
