Hanna Cardenas

Born in 2006 in Guadalajara, Mexico, Hanna was raised alongside her younger brother by their mother, a resilient and resourceful entrepreneur. While their father was absent throughout their upbringing, it was her mother’s unyielding work ethic—balancing multiple businesses from running a children’s hair salon to various ventures—that made a lasting impression on Hanna’s worldview. Selling side by side with her mother since she was a child, she learned the importance of perseverance, self-reliance, and innovation.

A pivotal event in her early life occurred when her mother was diagnosed with uterine sarcoma, a rare cancer, when Hanna was just five years old. Facing the possibility of losing her mother, Hanna adopted a maturity beyond her years, taking on additional responsibilities within the household and caring for her younger brother. This formative experience imbued her with determination, emotional strength, and an appreciation for every day, especially in a family defined by absence of a father and a mother’s entrepreneurial hustle.

Hanna's affinity for entrepreneurship emerged early when, at age 10, she attended a specialized school focused on business and innovation. Her first independent venture debuted at just 10: a slime business that capitalized on the trendiness of homemade crafts in 2017. Encouraged by supportive family and teachers, Hanna’s confidence grew as she navigated the fundamentals of marketing, customer service, and business operations.

She completed her high school education in Mexico at 18, and upon graduation, Hanna made the bold decision to move to the United States alone, seeking new opportunities and a brighter future. Demonstrating self-reliance and ambition, she continued both working and taking professional courses—particularly in sales and marketing—to sharpen her business acumen. Her transition from Guadalajara to first Virginia, and ultimately Idaho, was marked by adaptability and the capacity to overcome significant personal and logistical challenges.

Hanna’s emotional landscape is marked by deep family bonds and an evolving romantic life. The absence of her father, combined with her mother’s strength during health crises, fostered Hanna’s capacity for empathy and maturity. She has maintained a close relationship with her younger brother, caring for him during times of uncertainty.

Since moving to the United States, Hanna found a stable and inspiring partnership. Living with her boyfriend for almost a year, she describes him as her greatest supporter and source of inspiration. Their relationship provides her with unwavering emotional backing as she navigates the ups and downs of entrepreneurship and life abroad, underscoring the importance of mutual support and encouragement in her journey.

Hanna’s vision for the future is centered on independence, creativity, and global mobility. She dreams of being the architect of her own schedule, refusing to be constrained by the traditional 8-to-5 grind. With a desire to live and work from anywhere in the world, she aspires to travel extensively and maintain her strong connections with Mexico, hoping to spend every summer and winter back in her homeland.
