Lance Bass

Lance Bass is an American singer, dancer, actor, and producer who is best known as a member of the popular boy band *NSYNC. The band achieved worldwide fame with hits like "Bye Bye Bye," "This I Promise You," and "It's Gonna Be Me." Beyond his musical career, Lance Bass has pursued ventures in entertainment and media, including acting roles, hosting shows, and producing. He is also known for his interest in space travel, once being a certified cosmonaut.

Lance Bass was born James Lance Bass on May 4, 1979, in Laurel, Mississippi. He is the son of Diane, a middle school teacher, and James Irvin Bass Jr., a medical technologist. Raised in a Southern Baptist household, Lance has an older sister named Stacy. From a young age, he was interested in music, supported by his family, and sang in the choir at his Baptist church.

Lance Bass attended Clinton High School in Clinton, Mississippi. He later moved to Orlando, Florida, where he joined the pop group *NSYNC at the age of 16. While his formal education was interrupted by his commitment to the band, he received informal training in music, acting, and entertainment through his professional activities.

Lance Bass's career began with *NSYNC in 1995, and the group quickly became a pop phenomenon. Their albums "*NSYNC" and "No Strings Attached" broke sales records, cementing their success. Despite never going to space, his cosmonaut training is a notable aspect of his career.

Lance Bass is known to have been in a long-term relationship with Michael Turchin, an artist and actor. They became engaged in September 2013 and married in December 2014. Their wedding was the first same-sex marriage to be televised on cable TV, titled "Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding." In 2021, they welcomed twins via surrogate, named Alexander James and Violet Betty.

Lance Bass has spoken about various ambitions, including expanding his career in entertainment beyond music and participating in charitable work, especially for LGBTQ+ rights.
