Since relocating to Germany in 2019, my life here has been nothing short of transformative. I moved to embrace an exciting opportunity: a Software Engineer role at Wayfair, one of the world’s leading online home and furniture retailers. The transition came with its share of adjustments, navigating a new workplace culture, acclimating to Germany’s milder seasons (a stark contrast to Nigeria’s climate), and learning the language along the way. Beyond the practical shifts, the greatest growth has come from lived experiences and the vibrant community I’ve built. I’ve formed meaningful friendships that have enriched my life and broadened my perspective. Embracing life here also gave me the confidence to co-found a venture with friends "Wikimoi" a bold and exhilarating step into entrepreneurship. Though challenging, the journey has been deeply rewarding and has opened an exciting new chapter in my story.

Kayode Jude Oguntimehin was born in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. At the age of three, his family relocated to Ado Ekiti, a move that marked the beginning of his formative years. As the eldest of four siblings, Kayode quickly assumed a role of responsibility, acting as a role model and guide for his younger brother and sisters. This early experience of leadership and responsibility greatly influenced his character and ambition.

Kayode’s educational journey began at Omolere Nursery School in Akure and continued at St. Joseph Catholic Primary School in Ado Ekiti. His academic potential became evident early on when, in primary five, he won a national essay competition and received an Award of Excellence. This recognition affirmed his intellectual promise and set him apart among his peers. He went on to attend Federal Science and Technical College, Usi Ekiti, where his fascination with computers began to grow. This passion eventually led him to study Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he discovered his true calling in software development.

Kayode currently resides in Berlin, Germany, where he works as a senior software engineer for Wayfair. He enjoys the rich cultural experiences that come with living abroad, despite the initial challenges such as language barriers. His passion extends beyond computers; he is an avid fan of Formula One racing, which often surprises those who learn of his enthusiasm for the sport due to its seemingly repetitive nature. Additionally, Kayode is learning to play the piano, embracing the soulful tones of the genre as a personal interest.

Throughout his life, Kayode has maintained a small but deeply supportive circle of friends and loved ones. He values relationships that are mutually encouraging and symbiotic, surrounding himself with ambitious individuals who inspire growth. While specific details of his romantic life remain private, it is evident that he prizes a sense of balance and mutual respect in his relationships, and his current girlfriend can testify to that

Looking towards the future, Kayode dreams of branching out into entrepreneurship, aiming to establish successful businesses. He also aspires to build a loving family and cultivate his musical interests further. Community engagement and providing support to those in need are central to his vision, reflecting a deep-rooted desire to give back to society and create a positive impact.
