Tefilla Pelafu

Tefilla Pelafu is an Indonesian interior designer who has traversed various international landscapes in pursuit of education and career progression. Her vibrant upbringing, along with her enthusiasm for design, has led her to embark on an inspiring journey from Jakarta to Berlin, continuously influencing and shaping the spaces around her.

Born in 1998 in Medan, Tefilla’s early years were marked by a significant transition when her family moved to Bogor, a city close to Jakarta. Growing up in Bogor, she navigated the challenges of developing friendships and adapting to new environments, eventually establishing deep roots and lasting friendships within her community.

Tefilla's educational journey reflects her diverse academic pursuits across continents. She completed her high school education at Regina Pacis Bogor, discovering a penchant for English and engaging actively in extracurricular activities such as dance. Pursuing higher education, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Universitas Indonesia, during which she also explored global perspectives through an exchange program at TU Darmstadt. Propelled by her academic excellence, Tefilla secured a scholarship from DAAD for a master’s degree in Architecture at Hochschule Anhalt, further honing her skills in the creation and design of spaces.

Outside of her professional obligations, Tefilla enjoys travelling, reading, gaming, and exploring new cafés and restaurants around Berlin. These activities strike a balance between work and leisure, enriching her cultural experience and personal life in this vibrant city. Tefilla’s inquisitiveness and love of exploration lead her to new experiences and joys.

During her master's studies, Tefilla encountered a significant relationship that greatly influenced her personal and professional life. Meeting her boyfriend during this period, she found a partnership filled with support and belief, which fueled her ambition and enthusiasm toward achieving her dreams.

Ambitious and driven, Tefilla dreams of establishing her own interior design studio along with a furniture brand. Her aspirations extend beyond professional success, embodying personal fulfillment through travel and supporting her family. These dreams guide her in shaping her career and personal endeavors alike.
